welcome to the best of

the ocean state

We believe a vacation home should be the ultimate oasis – a place to retreat, gather, celebrate and laugh with family and friends.

The Big House, Rhode Island has graced Sakonnet Point for more than 100 years, unyielding to hurricanes with its rocky ledge. Restored by a designer passionate about historic home renovation (and a former Pottery Barn Creative Director), it now combines New England tradition with contemporary, California style. Modern and relaxed, infused with coastal and global influences - we believe our home’s design will relax you as much as its spectacular location.

Enjoy breathtaking views of Sakonnet Harbor and River and beyond to Portsmouth and Newport.
Cast your line off the rocks while your kids jump into the water.
Gather around the fire pit for unmatched sunsets and s’mores.
Bike to Rocky Beach for an early morning surf or spend the day lazing away at Tappens.
Pick up lobsters down the lane for an old fashioned boil and start mixing the Mount Gay.

Everything that summer is - is right here. Join us.

Art Cafe

Are we in California? This charming, in-the-know coffee shop oozes hippy love and serves up a great latte. Kids can run around safely while you wait on the carefully-prepared baked goods and check out the art (obviously). Just don’t be in a rush - but isn’t that what summer is all about?

sakonnet lobster

There is nothing that says summer more than the lobster. What else is there to say? You can walk down the street (like a block) and pick yours up. BOOM. Call ahead and they’ll be waiting.

easy entertaining

Entertaining a crowd or celebrating a birthday? Just don’t want to cook on your vacation? Easy Entertaining has you covered. Cait, the owner, is THE BEST (and also vacations in Little Compton!). From an entirely hands-off party to dropped off dinner that you pop in the oven, this company is local, reliable and the food is delicious. Cannot recommend them more.

The boat house, tiverton

There aren’t many reasons to leave LC, but this is a spectacular date night location. The sunset view is breathtaking, and they serve up a delicious, stiff cocktail. And in the land of fried calamari, the Boat House serves it up with RI pride with zippy cherry peppers.

skindulgence skin care studio

I had both the best facial and the best Botox of my life at this spa. I’m not kidding (and I am a huge fan of Canyon Ranch). Take my advice and book an appointment early to work with Amy and Amy. Not only will you enjoy some relaxation, but you’ll keep that refreshed look long after the vacation ends. (And nope, I’m not getting a kickback of any sort… this is an honest to goodness rave review!)
