The Big House went under a meticulous renovation over the winter of 2020/2021. Gutted to the studs, insulation was blown in and all the systems updated to include heat and air conditioning. The original plumbing fixtures - sinks and bathtubs - were carefully removed, restored and reglazed, and then new faucets and fixtures were added. The original heart pine floors were also restored to their original lustre.
The kitchen at the Big House retains the charm of an old summer cottage but has been completely updated with luxury appliances from Fischer Paykel, including a dual fuel range. Next to the kitchen is a large pantry outfitted with glassware, barware, dishes and serveware perfect for large parties and family gatherings.
The Big House is also outfitted with a full-home generator in case of power loss during a storm.
Location & Neighborhood
Located on the Farm Coast, Little Compton is a breathtakingly beautiful town where rolling farmland meets open ocean. Less than 1.5 hours from Boston, it is an easy trip for a weekend getaway but feels miles further. Enjoy glorious sand beaches within walking distance, and a slower pace of a rural, quiet farm town. The pace slows down here, and the simple pleasures - lobsters, sunsets, collecting shells and spending time with loved ones - are the main event.
