Originally built as a play house for the children of the Big House, the Cottage was added on to in the 1940s in order to be a stand-alone summer house. The Cottage has its own Europe-inspired gravel patio, outdoor lounge and dining area that look due west to beautiful sunsets and ocean views. Spacious yet simple with all bedrooms on one level, the primary bedroom is spacious and airy with a King bed and luxury linens. Kids (as they have for generations) will love the double bunkrooms: it’s summer living at its best.

Located on the Farm Coast, Little Compton is a breathtakingly beautiful town where rolling farmland meets open ocean. Less than 1.5 hours from Boston, it is an easy trip for a weekend getaway but feels miles further. Enjoy glorious sand beaches within walking distance, and a slower pace of a rural, quiet farm town. The pace slows down here, and the simple pleasures - lobsters, sunsets, collecting shells and spending time with loved ones - are the main event.
